Category : English, Erziehungswissenschaft, Learning, Medien & Design, ePedagogy Design

In Helen Barretts Blog I found this nice video about ePortfolios. It was created by Sònia Guilana.

This 3-minute video was created by Sònia Guilana, to explain eportfolios to her high school students (12-18) in Catalonia, Spain. Great images! Nice, simple explanation.

I’m just asking myself if this video could’nt also be used to explain what a ple can offer to learners.

What does an educational microblogging service need?

Category : English, Teaching, Uni, ePedagogy Design

etherpadLast time in my Seminar about blogging in education we talked about the question if one would like to use microblogging in education, what would be needed to be a good educational microblogging service.
To discuss that and share some general information we used an etherpad document. And I have to admit that I was a bit surprised that instead of just thinking about the task everyone started creating content in this document. I shared the Information that we are working on this right now on twitter an so other seminar participants who can’t joint today and other twitter users joined as well. Thanks for that!

In my opinion the collected features might exclude each other sometimes, but it is a first collection and might be improved during the next weeks.

PS: During working with etherpad we discovered that there is a limitation to 8 users working on the document at the same time.

Intermediate Results at the end of the seminar:

Pedagogical Media Theory – Blogging and its possible relation to education

Category : English, Erziehungswissenschaft, Teaching, Uni, ePedagogy Design

Description for my Seminar in Summer 2009:

blogging

Since Blogs are an easy way to publish information to the web the use of them is still increasing, even in educational settings. The question for this seminar is how could blogging and microblogging be used efficently for teachers and learners. What are traps and what are benefits in using those technologies for learning processes? What kind of understanding of the relation between teacher and student are common and meaningful if social software is used in education? We will deal with different learning theories and how they adapt to blogging. You will also try blogging and microblogging during the seminar to discover relevant aspects for judging about the relevance and to take didactical aspects in account for future learning arrangements.

Links for this Seminar will be bookmarked at delicious with the tag: seminarappeltsose2009

This Course will take place between Apr. 7th 2009 and Jul. 14th 10:00 – 12:00 h (cet).

eLearning – Concept for a Seminar

Category : English, Teaching, Uni, ePedagogy Design

I am giving my first Seminar at the University of Hamburg this Semester. It is a lot of fun working with interested and motivated students and it is a lot of work to arrange a seminar for those students.
I decided not to use one of the established plattform which are supposed to support seminars here in Hamburg.

Reasons to work with a Blog and Wiki in Seminars

I decided that i’d like to try to work with a weblog-wiki-combination for my seminar as I am always praying telling in my workshops.

International Seminar at the ZKM

Category : English, Learning, ePedagogy Design

Between 3rd and 6th international Seminar we had our fifth international Seminar for ePedagogy Design. This time it was held in the ZKM in Karlsruhe. One of our Focuses was the YOU_ser Exhibition.

I liked the FLICK_KA which is obviously related to the Photosharing Service Flickr. There were also some “usual” Seminar Program. Our dutch Fellows had some presentations about what they’re teaching at the Inholland University what was quite interesting, but too sad that we can’t take some of these Courses. Especially the course from Lynda Deutz seemed to be very interesting.

Work less, achieve more

Category : ePedagogy Design

Working in ePedagogy contexts often means to work online. David Krug put together a list about 5 Ways to Work Less and Get More Done Online. In his opinion the five key points are:

  • Restrict your work hours to increase efficiency.
  • Create a map for your day.
  • Schedule times to check email.
  • Relax and don’t try to force yourself to work harder.
  • Cut yourself some slack.

To get some more information about these aspects go directly to 901am.

Pädagogische Medientheorie am Beispiel web 2.0

Category : Erziehungswissenschaft

Nr. 61.085
I.B.4 HAUPTSEMINAR (WEITERFÜHREND) AEW, Diplom: H1, H8, 18
Veranstalter: Torsten Meyer, Inst. 10
Raum: Erzw 504
Zeit: Mo, 14:15 – 15:45, Beginn: 23.10., Ende: 05.02.

International Seminar

Category : ePedagogy Design

The past four days I participated in the third international Seminar of ePedagogy Design – Visual Knowledge Building. It was held in Hamburg for the first time and I had been in the group of students who where planning it. (Hey folks it was nice to work with you ;-) )
Antti, one of the finnish students stayed at my place and together with him and all the other epedagogy Students I had a great time.

One purpose of this meeting was to form new groups for the upcoming semester-project. Together with Owen and Alex and may be hopefully more people I will work on a wiki concerning ePedagogy. There had been taken been a lot of photos which can be found at flickr.
The documentation of the seminar is available at the Me/We in ePedaogy Design Blog.
Regarding to our trip to the Dialoge in the Dark and the included Boat-Trip and some requests of our guide “Please make a snake” I found this video.
