Erster Workshoptag

Der erste Tag begann selbstverständlich mit einer Vorstellungsrunde und bestand im weiteren Verlauf aus einem Besprechen der Erwartungen, welche teilweise schon vorab kommuniziert wurden, einer Erkundung von Lehrerblogs mit der Fragestellung warum Lehrer bloggen, einer allgemeinen Einführung in Weblogs und ersten praktischen Schritten.

Warum bloggen Lehrer?

Nach Begutachtung einiger Lehrerblogs durch die Workshopteilnehmer wurden (die vermuteten) Argumente gesammelt warum (diese) Lehrer bloggen. Dies waren im wesentlichen:

• Austausch mit Kollegen (über lokale Grenzen hinweg)
• Bereitstellung von Material für Kolleginnen und Kollegen
• Weitergabe von Erfahrungen
• Soziales Netzwerk
• Online Arbeitszimmer
• Frust von der Seele schreiben
• Neue Ideen finden
• Reflexion

Es zeigte sich jedoch, dass die meisten WorkshopteilnehmerInnen zunächst lieber ein Unterrichtsblog erstellen wollten als ein Blog welches primär die eigene Lehrtätigkeit thematisiert.

Zweiter Workshoptag

Der zweite Tag stand im Zeichen der Unterrichtsblogs. Es konnten bereits am ersten Workshoptag auch Unterrichtsblogs erkundet werden. Eines wurde während des Workshops genauer angeguckt werden. Zum Ende des Workshops sollte jede(r) wenn gewünscht mit einem funktionsfähigen Blog den Workshop verlassen.

Beispiel Unterrichtsblog

Die Teilnehmerin Saskia Lemenkühler hatte bereits vor dem Workshop ein Unterrichtsblog im Einsatz. Es handelt sich um das Blog Sprachspielerei zum Deutschunterricht einer siebten Klasse an einer Hamburger Gesamtschule. Es wahr sehr interessant sich nicht nur ein Unterrichtsblog anzusehen, sondern darüber hinaus auch Gründe für und gegen alle möglichen Dinge zu hören und auch von den Erfahrungen zu hören.
Ich habe mir folgende Dinge aus Saskias Schilderungen notiert und möchte sie hier gerne weitergeben:

1. Neben dem Einsatz des Blogs für die Unterrichtsthemen ist auch der Erwerb weiterer Medienkompetenz ein Grund das Blog mit den Schülern zu benutzen.
2. Bisher ist das Blog eine freiwillige Angelegenheit und bietet zusätzliches, unterrichtsbegleitendes Material.
3. Problematisch stellt sich derzeitig noch die Verfügbarkeit von Internetzugängen innerhalb und außerhalb der Schule dar.
4. Das Feedback ist bisher durchweg positiv. Dies spiegelt sich auch an der zahlreichen Kommentaren im Blog wieder.
5. Saskia hat ein gestuftes Vorgehen für die Partizipation der Schüler im Blog gewählt. Bisher sind die ersten zwei Stufen umgesetzt. Die dritte Stufe soll folgen.

Planung eines Unterrichtsblogs

Es folgte eine Phase in der eigne Unterrichtsblogs geplant werden konnten, wenn dies nicht schon am Vortag geschehen ist. Lisa Rosa stellt in der Blogwerkstatt umfangreiches Material zur Verfügung welches bei der Planung eigener Blogs helfen kann. Besonders haben mir die Typen (Modelle) für den Einsatz von Blogs in Schule und Unterricht, die Checkliste zur Planung der Arbeit mit Blogs und die Entwurfskizze für einen Unterricht mit Blogs gefallen.

Ich bin davon überzeugt das einige der o.g. Blogs auch mittel- und langfristig eine interessante Lektüre darstellen. Feedback von außen ist sicher auch in den Unterrichtsblogs erwünscht.

Fazit

Innerhalb von zweit Tagen Workshop sind einige Blogs im Lehrer- und Schulkontext entstanden. In der Feedbackrunde wurde mehrfach der Wunsch geäußert Unterrichtsblogs im Kontext von Unterrichtsentwürfen und didaktischen Konzepten zu betrachten wobei Erfolgsfaktoren und Probleme benannt werden sollten. Meines Erachtens ist dies immer nur im Gespräch mit Praktikern möglich die ihre Arbeit reflektieren und evaluieren. Eine Liste mit Punkten die erfüllt sein müssen um ein erfolgreiches Unterrichtsblog zu haben scheint mir genau so lose verkettet wie die Logik, dass eine gut ausgestattete Küche automatisch zu leckerem Essen und gutem Kochen führt. Wie ein Blog sinnvoll und didaktisch gewinnbringend in den Unterricht integriert werden kann muss eigentlich für jede Lerngruppe neu definiert werden. Insofern scheinen Patentrezepte (noch?) nicht greifbar zu sein. Wenn zunehmend Blogs zur Unterstützung des Unterrichts eingesetzt werden und die Erfahrungen der Lehrenden ausgetauscht werden könnte man allerdings versuchen so etwas wie Leitlinien zu entwickeln die Neulingen auf dem Gebiet zur Handlungsorientierung angeboten werden können.
Dank Jessica Peters habe ich am Abend nach dem letzten Workshoptag noch ein Video zu Blogs/Wikis im Schuleinsatz gefunden. Vielleicht ist das für Leute die bisher gelesen haben interessant…
Mir hat es viel Spaß gemacht mich mit den spezifischen Anforderungen der verschiedenen Referendarinnen und Referendare auseinander zu setzen und die unterschiedlichen Umsetzungsideen aufzunehmen. Zum Thema Blogs mal in die Teilnehmerrolle rutschen zu können war ebenso angenehm wie die Art in der Lisa Rosa mich in den Kurs eingebunden hat.

Since Blogs are an easy way to publish information to the web the use of them is still increasing, even in educational settings. The question for this seminar is how could blogging and microblogging be used efficently for teachers and learners. What are traps and what are benefits in using those technologies for learning processes? What kind of understanding of the relation between teacher and student are common and meaningful if social software is used in education? We will deal with different learning theories and how they adapt to blogging. You will also try blogging and microblogging during the seminar to discover relevant aspects for judging about the relevance and to take didactical aspects in account for future learning arrangements.

Reasons to work with a Blog and Wiki in Seminars

I decided that i’d like to try to work with a weblog-wiki-combination for my seminar as I am always praying telling in my workshops.

1. While I am pretty familar with Blogs and Wikis I thought the students should get in touch with Blog and Wikis more than just comment and read stuff I wrote.
   One reason for that was that I’d like to read a little bit more about their thoughts about the seminar, eLearning and related stuff.
2. Another reason to let the students have their own blog was that I want them to be able to get their content to the web, more or less periodically. To write a Blog is a very easy way to publish information on the net.
3. The main question if you use tools for teaching/learning is to think about why and how you’d like the tools to be used. In my opinion reflection is a very good way to identify future learning goals and recent learning activitys. While a Blog could be used to collect parts of and Links to the Students Work and offers a way to structure and reflect these collections, it seemed to me that using it as a starting point for a ePortfolio would be a good chance.
4. Collecting, organizing and reflecting on stuff from the could be easily done with pencil and paper but there are some important things missing. It is not that easy to cope with Multimedia content an a piece of paper, but yes, you are right, doing a ePortfolio on a Computer offline is no problem, organizing important webressourzes is a little more difficult if your ePortfolio is offline. For me the most important aspect to do your Portfolio online is that you can collaberate, and communicate with others, share your ideas, get feedback, help and motivation from lets say all over the world seems to be impossible if you’re working offline.

I know that doing this ePortfolio with good content and reflection is a lot of work for the Students, but I am sure that it is worth it.

The past few weeks the students collected a lot of definitions and quotes about eLearning and related topics in the wiki for this seminar and within the nxt two weeks we will have presentations of little learning objects which should help to get to know what different abbreviations are meaning e.g. PLE, VLE, LCMS, CBT, … or words like Microlearning and so on. All this will be related to formal, non-formal and informal learning and I am pretty sure you can find interesting Articles within the students Blogs.

One purpose of this meeting was to form new groups for the upcoming semester-project. Together with Owen and Alex and may be hopefully more people I will work on a wiki concerning ePedagogy. There had been taken been a lot of photos which can be found at flickr.
